The Continuing Legal Education Committee administers a program established by the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands which requires attorneys to attend legal education classes each year. Lawyers must complete a minimum of 12 hours of legal education accredited by the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands. The minimum number of legal education hours must include a minimum of two hours ever year, of education devoted exclusively to legal ethics. Hours in excess of the minimum requirements but not exceeding a maximum of six credits may be carried over to the next year. Click here for the Court rules regulating CLE. A Virgin Islands-licensed attorney who is inactive is exempted from CLE requirements, pursuant to rule 208 of the Virgin Islands Supreme Court Rules.
