The Continuing Legal Education Committee administers a program established by the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands which requires attorneys to attend legal education classes each year. Lawyers must complete a minimum of 12 hours of legal education accredited by the Supreme Court of the Virgin Islands. The minimum number of legal education hours must include a minimum of two hours ever year, of education devoted exclusively to legal ethics. Hours in excess of the minimum requirements but not exceeding a maximum of six credits may be carried over to the next year. Click here for the Court rules regulating CLE. This requirement helps ensure that lawyers keep abreast of the latest legal developments.
